Mistakes To Avoid On Every Visa Interview

Lateness:
This is another mistake you must never make. Always be punctual, make sure to leave home early enough (consider traffic Jam). When you are called for a visa interview, the consulate or Embassy will give you an exact time and date. Arriving for this interview late gives you an automatic bad impression and it tells the interviewing officer the kind of person you are.
Endeavor to arrive at least 15-20mins earlier so you can get yourself together before the interview.



Talking too much(Rambling):
when asked a question, go straight to the point, don’t talk about things you weren’t asked to discuss, most times, it’s the extra things you say that gets you into trouble. You’re there for an interview, you should listen and talk less, answer each question confidently and briefly. Also, remember to maintain Eye contact at all times. (it shows your genuineness).

False or misleading information:
The embassy invites you for an interview because it needs to prove that you have offered correct information on your visa application. So your information on your application must correspond to the answers you’re giving them. Answer Every question honestly as there’s a penalty for giving false or misleading pieces of information.

Incomplete documentation:
Make sure you have supporting documents of ties to your country( family members, projects), bank accounts, etc. In order to support your Claims. Arrange each document properly and do not forget a single one.

Disagreeing with the interviewing officer:
Disagreeing with the visa officer during the interview session is a short cut to a rejected visa. No matter what you feel, always watch your tone and never argue with them, be humble. An Increased tone of voice or a bad approach shows that you are a destructive individual that does not have respect for authority. If you have any objection, use a very calm tone to clarify the issue.

Being Nervous or too Confident;
You should be confident but being too confident may be read as being cocky and arrogant. So be confident but not overconfident.
A little display of nervousness may ruin your chances of getting a visa.
One of the best ways to show you’re confident is to keep consistent, natural eye contact all through the interview.

As they say, there is no second chance to create a first impression matters a lot. You need to give a strong impression from the moment you walk into the room, Your impression should reflect the kind of person you are, you should be comfortable, confident, well-composed neat and easy to talk to.
