Ways to Raise a Confident Child with Grit

1. Encouragement
When a kid wants to learn how to play football, do they keep playing after they wound or they quit?

If they aren't encouraged to continue to play and try again, they might stop playing football.

The kid needs to be encouraged to continue trying.  "My dear, you can do it, I believe in you" and "I believe that even if you wound again on the field you will continue playing and eventually you will be among the best.

Encouragement means "Keep trying" so that they can build a child's confidence. This confidence is what will help them to move on incase if they want to quit.

Cheer Them:
Words are powerful. A parent should use words to build up a kid, by telling them that they can do it even if they want to quit.

Cheer them when their team is winning. Parent need to cheer their kid successes, this will help them to keep moving and fighting when life gets tough

Force Them:
A parent should keep in mind that they can't force a kid to keep trying. They have to build the confidence to do it themselves.

Forcing the child to learn something that they weren't ready to learn would bring arguments and tears.

If your kid begins sports activity in school and wants to quit because they are terrible at sport, you have to encourage them that quitting isn't an option.

Although they may not win another football match the rest of the season, commitment is very important.

Fail:
Your kid will fail. Let them. Do not rescue your kids from their personal failures. If they don't fail, they don't have the opportunity to try again.

Failure is embarrassing. When a child learns how to solve a problem at a young age, will be easy to handle failure and embarrassment as an adult.

Teach them:
Encourage your kid to continue to try. Don't let them quit.

Life is hard. Let them know, if you quit the first time you tried new things, you would never amount to anything in life. Parents need to teach kids that trying again is part of human life.

Talent:
A parent should help their child discover their talents, but allow them to discover what they love to do.

Let your kids experience a variety of activities so that they discover their talent.

Model:
If you are a parent of a child, then you are a role model for that child. Kids always look up to the adults in their life that are closest to them, especially their mothers. Kids will look at your ability to persevere and achieve.

Teach our kid how the brain works
Teach them how to set goals
Teach them how to develop good character, attitude, behavior
Teach them that failure is an opportunity to learn.
